John Monash Science School offers support and provides a formal network for members of the school community.
There are many ways parents can participate and contribute to the vibrant school culture.
Parents and friends of JMSS students are invited to join our diverse group of committed supporters. The John Monash Science School Parents and Friends Association (PFA) fosters relationships between parents and friends of JMSS students, offering support and providing a formal network for members of the school community. PFA is a great way to meet other parents and be involved in school activities.
As our School continues to grow it is important we are able to draw on the experience, expertise and energy of members of our parent community to continue to guide JMSS. We would like to encourage parents who are not on Council but wish to be involved in the school to join either our PFA or one of our Council subcommittees.
We would relish those who can to come back and help out, we will always be looking for people to help our students with their learning. We will always be looking for people to help our students with their learning, maybe take a Co-curricular class which a few past students have already begun doing, help out with next year’s International Science Fair which we are hosting.
With the first class of John Monash Science School having graduated at the end of 2012, there is a need to maintain the friendships and networks established while at JMSS. The Alumni seeks to support its members in this manner as they move on from their secondary education.
All JMSS students automatically join the Alumni – free of charge – upon graduating. Other members of the community, including past and present staff members and honorary guests, are also invited and encouraged to join.
John Monash Science School is willing and open to pursuing partnerships with companies, industry associations and other organisations. We see many potential ways of working with us, including events, guest speakers, work experience and industry placements.
At John Monash Science School, we pride ourselves in educating the scientists of tomorrow. However, a number of our students are faced with financial difficulties that can make schooling difficult. Through the act of giving, you can help. Every gift, no matter the amount, makes a real difference in providing financial aid to students who need it the most.
Professional relationships between the school and so many sectors of the university are strong and ongoing, and the opportunities presented to our students on a daily basis are unique, challenging and motivating.
