At John Monash Science School (JMSS), we offer a range of outreach programs for our community. These outreach programs provide unique opportunities to experience learning, teaching and the culture of our school whilst utilising our ground-breaking facilities and challenging curriculum.
Our 'Little Scientists, Big Science' and 'Mini Mathematicians' programs introduce high achieving Grade 5/6 students to a range of advanced topics and experiments. Our JMSS Year 10 and 11 students mentor Primary School participants through four exciting sessions, opening their eyes to a world of possibilities in the STEM realm.
Held annually, the JMSS Regional Science Exchange invites Year 10 students from regional Victorian schools with a passion for science and technology to join us on campus for an immersive two-week program.
Through the Regional Science Exchange, small cohorts of Year 10 students from rural and regional Victoria are invited to visit Melbourne and experience teaching and learning at JMSS – Victoria’s first specialist secondary school with an explicit focus on science, mathematics and associated technologies.
The ESV program makes it possible for Year 9 and Year 10 students across Victoria to access specialised STEM subjects through a virtual classroom. Broadcast from a purpose built studio on the JMSS campus, ESV creates engaging, collaborative, and inclusive learning for all students regardless of geographic location or socio-economic situation.
