ISSF Thailand January 2025

Three students accompanied by Dr Penny Hale and Mr Corkill attended the 20th Anniversary of the International Students Science Fair (ISSF) hosted by the Mahidol Wittayanusorn School in Thailand from January 26th to 31st.  The ISSF is held annually and students from over 30 specialist science schools attended with teams from Korea, Japan, Kenya, The Netherlands, The United States, and the United Kingdom to name a few. All schools represented had their students present a scientific investigation in poster form to all science fair delegates, and then the next day followed up with an oral presentation about their research methodology and findings.

The theme of the ISSF was “Exploring a Visionary Future in Sustainability, Humanity and Technology” and students also got the chance to participate in workshops and immersions around this theme.

It was pleasing to see the project taken to the fair by JMSS students received the “Spark of Inspiration ” award, and Zara Zulkarnian received a gold medal for her “Art in Science” project. The team receiving their award is pictured.
