JMSS’s unique position on the Clayton campus of Monash University provides the school with access to nationally and internationally recognised science and education research academics.
Our school has been designed to facilitate a range of teaching approaches, flexibility of group sizes and maximum access to cutting-edge learning technologies. These outstanding facilities help us achieve the best learning outcomes for students in the 21st century. Rather than traditional classrooms, our school has open-plan learning spaces for small or large groups of up to 50 students with two teachers working in tandem.
Applications for entry in 2026 are now open. Entry for Year 11 will close on the 2nd May 2025. Entry for Year 10 will close on the 23rd May 2025.
JMSS is a State Government Senior Secondary School and adheres to the Department of Education Parent Payment Guidelines. We welcome voluntary contributions to assist with the provision of scientific equipment and resources above and beyond the standard curriculum.

JMSS has a compulsory uniform, including a summer, winter, and sports uniform. Students will also need a lab coat, safety glasses and a school backpack with the JMSS logo.
JMSS also recognises the need to provide an efficient process for families to recycle their textbooks, uniforms and other student resources. You can buy and sell second-hand uniforms, books, calculators and stationery online.
