John Monash Science School (JMSS) offers support and provides a formal network for members of the school community.
There are many ways parents can participate and contribute to the vibrant school culture.
Parents and friends of JMSS students are invited to join our diverse group of committed supporters. Parents can volunteer their time across a number of events throughout the year. This includes but is not limited to, Music Soirees, Science Exhibition Nights, Presentation Nights and more.
As JMSS continues to grow it is important that we are able to draw on the experience, expertise and energy of members of our parent community to continue to guide JMSS. We would like to encourage parents who are not on School Council to volunteer at one of our many events.
With the first class of JMSS graduating at the end of 2012, it is important to maintain the friendships and networks established while at JMSS. The Alumni seeks to support its members in this manner as they move on from their secondary education.
All JMSS students automatically join the Alumni – free of charge – upon graduating. Other members of the community, including past and present staff members and honorary guests, are also invited and encouraged to join.
JMSS is willing and open to pursuing partnerships with companies, industry associations and other organisations. There are many potential ways of working with us, including events, guest speakers, work experience and industry placements.
At JMSS, we pride ourselves in educating the scientists of tomorrow. However, a number of our students are faced with financial difficulties that can make schooling difficult. Through the act of giving, you can help. Every gift, no matter the amount, makes a real difference in providing financial aid to students who need it the most.
Professional relationships between the school and so many sectors of the university are strong and ongoing, and the opportunities presented to our students on a daily basis are unique, challenging and motivating.
