Sir John Monash Commemorative Service 2024

Today, John Monash Science School (JMSS) proudly participated in the Sir John Monash Commemorative Service held at Parliament House in Melbourne. Sponsored by the Spirit of Australia Foundation, this significant event was first established in 2005. Although the service was cancelled from 2020 to 2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it thankfully returned in 2023, allowing us to once again honor Sir John Monash’s legacy.

Principal Peter Corkill and Assistant Business Manager Abbey Xie accompanied ten of our students to the assembly in Queens Hall this morning. The event saw a diverse audience, including students from various Victorian schools, come together to pay tribute to Sir John Monash and reflect on his contributions to Australia.

We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in this meaningful event and proud of our students and staff for representing JMSS with such respect and enthusiasm.
